But competing globally with companies like Google meant that the OS brand had to modernise in order to stand out from the rest. It was necessary for the new brand to strike a balance between the familiar and the forward-looking.
We developed a new logo, new brand values, new map covers, new website and new brand guidelines, plus everything in between.
Staying true to the essence of OS meant that, despite the change, everybody felt connected with and supportive of the new brand; from board level, to grassroots, to the people who just love collecting OS maps.

What gets me out of bed?
I’m obsessed with the big questions. Not so much about life and death, but more on how I can help an idea really succeed through a unique and boundary-pushing design approach.
I believe powerful campaigns are built on a strong understanding of human behaviour. This insight shapes my creative strategy and informs my approach to any project, adapting methods and ideas to suit the audience and to ensure the right message is being communicated.
As a seasoned (+18 years) and award-winning (print and digital) agency creative – who has now gone freelance – I am a passionate leader with a proven track record for translating complex ideas into slick, successful campaigns for my clients.
I’ve worked on global campaigns, built brands from the ground up, helped charities raise awareness and funds, I’ve managed and motivated interdisciplinary teams, organised and led workshops for clients, and can make an excellent cup of tea.
